A discussion in a coffee-shop in the summer of 2016, about the fast changing climate conditions and how that is leading to frequent droughts, floods and acute water shortage in the southern part of India led to the idea of TrusTrace. We were pained to see the rivers in which we swam and drank from, transforming to toxic, infection carrying bodies or even worse turning out to dry walkways. In certain Indian cities we lived in, buying pure air to breathe, was no more fictional scenario but a stark reality that shook us from the slumber.
We realized that we had to create a significant change and a faster one at that to be able to cope with the challenges we face. We started off working at the grass-roots level in Coimbatore, the southern city of India, working towards de-polluting rivers. Working in one of the largest textile manufacturing hubs in Asia, helped us understand the challenges faced and posed by Textile and Apparel industry
In Coimbatore and Stockholm we found two cities and a great ecosystem that egged and motivated us with the entrepreneurial spirit, love for nature and simple ways of living. The cities provided us with progressive brands, conscious manufacturers, progressive investors and a super motivated team to build a solution that would make the world a better place to live in for our future generations
Over the last 3 years, we have been challenging the status quo to bring in a fundamental change in the way textile and apparel industry works – to make every person in the value chain, be aware of their responsibilities and ACT the right way. Understanding the TRUE COST of manufacturing, selling, buying, disposing of garments etc. is critical for various stakeholders to act and make the value chain more sustainable. Building on our 2 decades of digital tech experience, we have built TrusTrace that enables the stakeholders to make the right decision to create a better world.
