CHALLENGE

Measurable Impact and Regulatory Demands

New Look operates in an increasingly complex regulatory environment that demands unprecedented supply chain visibility.

“Science Based Targets (SBTs) and an increasing regulatory landscape, which we welcome as an industry leveller, all require increased transparency of the origin of our goods and measured impact assessments.”

Solution

Implement Product Level Traceability

To achieve this, New Look partnered with TrusTrace to implement a comprehensive traceability solution at product purchase order level.

"It has become increasingly apparent that full transparency of value chains is the foundation of a strong sustainability strategy that will enable long term improvements both environmentally and socially. As such, this year we partnered with TrusTrace, a leading traceability and transparency tool within the apparel sector."

TrusTrace provides full traceability from Tier 1 to farm at product purchase order level, enabling granular, real-time data to better understand risks and opportunities. The platform also simplifies certification management and supports regulatory reporting, enabling deeper visibility across the value chain.

"In addition, the platform supports the collection of product certification and will allow us to provide reporting for regulatory compliance."

This represented a fundamental shift in how New Look approached supply chain visibility. "Previously, transparency of our value chain relied on static data collected twice a year, TrusTrace allows us to gather granular data for each product in real time."

Result

Real Time Data for Insights on Risks and Opportunities

The traceability data improves insights on risks and opportunities.  "With this real time data, we can better understand our risks, overlaying other data sets such as Higg FEM and Sedex reports to build a picture of our sourcing structure and identifying key risks as well as opportunities for both social and environmental improvement in a more dynamic way."

As of April 2025, 100% of New Look’s core suppliers are live on the TrusTrace platform, setting a new benchmark for transparent, responsible sourcing in fashion.
