Driven by their desire to be “good for the world”, Canada Goose is "shaping a future where exploration and sustainability lead the way" through ambitious Moonshots focused on "100% traceability, climate positivity, and authentic workplaces, with a commitment to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across their value chain by 2050,” stated their FY25 impact report.
With science-based targets set and the 100% traceability goal established, the company needed a platform to "share the complete journey of our products by ensuring transparency in our responsibly sourced materials and sustainable sourcing practices."
The data unlocked new possibilities beyond visibility and compliance. Canana Goose states in the report: “Through the shared Higg data, we gain deeper visibility into suppliers' environmental and social performance—helping us assess progress and identify opportunities for improvement." In FY25, Canada Goose completed waste audits at two of their Ontario facilities, uncovering key opportunities to reduce waste and improve diversion. Additional audits are planned for all remaining CG facilities in FY26.
The traceability infrastructure supports Canada Goose's broader sustainability commitments. "Building on our Scope 1 and 2 decarbonization roadmap, we have continued to advance our understanding of our Scope 3 emissions," the company stated. They completed the first comprehensive measurement of indirect emissions across our value chain in FY23, and plans to continue expanding this commitment by onboarding all trim and consumer-facing packaging suppliers in FY26. "Our purpose is bold, and our direction is clear. Together, we are shaping a future where exploration and sustainability lead the way."
